Sophie and her parents emmigrated from Danmark (Denmark) in 1881. Her mother came from a small town called Fakse (Faxe now), south of København (Copenhagen). Today Faxe has a major brewery and soft drink bottler, using the Faxe brand name. Her father grew up in a nearby town that was so small it doesn't exist anymore, and it was considered to be the name of a farm.
