Esther died of spinal disease February 3, 1851, in Chicopee, Hampden County, MA. She was listed as 59 yrs, 7 mo and 26 days of age at her death.

Silas remarried in 1852 but also outlived his younger second wife. Silas had worked as a laborer yet he lived to 93 years of age!
