record of the death of Dr. Samuel Frost, Jan. 7, 1712-13, and of another Dr. Samuel Frost, Jan. 7, 1717-13. There seems to be no record of the death of either of his wives.

Children, first three by first wife:

1 Samuel, b. Aug. 21, 1664.
2 Isaac, b. Oct. 21, 1666.
  Edmund, b. Aug. 21, 1668, d. Feb. 12, 1691.
4 Thomas, b. Apr. 30, 1674.
  Elizabeth, b. Apr. 30, 1674. Twin.
John, b. Apr. 7, 1678 at Billerica, Mass.
7 Joseph, b. Dec. 23, 1680.
  Benjamin, b. Aug. 10, 1683.
  Jonathan, b. Nov. 3, 1685.
  David, b. Apr. 11, 1689, d. Apr. 14, 1689.
11 Edmund, b. Mar. 5, 1691-2.

According to some authorities, the tenth child was Daniel. The Billerica Vital records give it to David.

Elizabeth, the only daughter of the family, and twin sister to Thomas, m. Spet. 18, 1705, John, the youngest child of Stephen and Hannah (Hall) Francis, who were m. Dec. 27, 1670.
   Child:
      Elizabeth.

John, the sixth child, removed to Newton, Pa., where he died about the year 1717. Since he left his estate to his only sister Elizabeth, and to his two brothers Thomas and Joseph, it would seem that he had no family.

THIRD GENERATION

31  SAMUEL FROST, son of Samuel and Mary, born in Billerica, Mass., Aug. 21, 1664, removed to Springfield and married Margaret, who died there July 5, 1689. He married second wife, Experience Miller, Oct. 22, 1691. She died at Willington, Conn., Dec. 13, 1731. He was Town Clerk in 1729, and died there Mar. 13, 1739.

   Children:

1 Samuel, b. Aug. 2, 1692.
  Joseph, b. June 27, 1694.
Thomas, b. May 13, 1695-6, died the next day.
  Sarah, b. Feb 2, 1697.
5 Ebenezer, b. Nov. 9, 1701.
  Thomas, b. Mar. 7, 1704.
7 Josiah, b. July 24, 1706.
  Aaron, b. Sept. 18, 1710.

FOURTH GENERATION

311  SAMUEL FROST, son of Samuel and Experience, born in Springfield, Aug. 2, 1692, married Deliverance. He bought land in Springfield from his father in 1716, and sold land in Tolland, Conn., to a John Hoggin.

He removed to Palmer, Mass., in 1725 or earlier, where he had a one-hundred acre homestead. At a meeting of the Proprietors of Elbows Tract, Aug. 7, 1733, he and James Mack Clelen were elected Collectors of all rates and assessments "granted and

allowed by the Proprietors and Grantees and made and assessed by the Assessor." From Sept. 11, to Dec. 25, 1755, he was in Capt. Ebenezer Moulton's company, Colonel Pomeroy's regiment, in the Crown Point Expedition.

He died in Monson, Mass., in 1767, leaving widow Deliverance and seven daughters.

   Children:

  Sarah, b. Feb. 1, 1725, m. Josiah Bliss.
  Rachel, b. Apr. 14, 1727, m. Joseph Lombard.
  Samuel, b. Oct. 21, 1729, d. Dec. 17, 1755.
  Esther, b. Apr. 11, 1731.
  Eunice.
  Lois, m. Elisha Nash.
  Dorcas.
  Susannah, m. ----- Moody.

The writer has no proof that the above-named Samuel was the son of Samuel and Experience, but Tempel's History of Palmer says that he was "from Billerica or Springfield," so the writer considers himself safe in assuming that the Samuel Frost who married Deliverance was 311 Samuel.

315  EBENEZER FROST, son of Samuel and Experience, born in Springfield, Nov. 9, 1701, married 327 Elizabeth Frost, daughter of Isaac and Mary, hence his own first cousin. His first son was born in Springfield (1732-3), and he afterwards removed to Brimfield, where he bought land in 1743 and at other times.

June 27, 1798, he sold land to Daniel Frost, probably the son of Ebenezer, Jr. This was about his last business transaction, since he died July 11, of the same year. His wife died December 1760.

He, with his brother Samuel and a Jonathan Frost, whom the writer has not yet identified, were in Captian Moulton's company, in the Crown Point Expedition of 1755, and he was also a soldier of the Revolution.

   Children:

1 Ebenezer, b. June 6, 1732-3.
  Aaron, b. Sept. 6, 1732.
  Daniel, b. May 22, 1740.

He is said to have had other children.

317  JOSIAH FROST, son of Samuel and Experience, born July 24, 1706, married in Willington, Conn., Nov. 3, 1739, Mary Polk. He removed to Windsor, Conn., where he bought land Nov. 16, 1748. His son David, who was born in 1750 is recorded in both Willington and Windsor. In 1751 he sold land to Noah Poalk, perhaps a brother of his wife.

In the deed to the land that he bought in 1748, he is said to be "of Summers, Hamsheare County, Mass." This deed was not recorded until Mar. 29, 1753.

Of his children, the first five were recorded in Willington, the other in Windsor, David, the fifth, being recorded in both places.

Page 11     31  SAMUEL SUBLINE, FIFTH GENERATION

   Children:

1 Samuel, b. Sept. 15, 1740.
2 Experience, b. Dec. 6, 1742.
3 Josiah, b. July 6, 1745. See the Frostburg Line.
4 Aaron, b. Sept. 16, 1747.
5 David, b. Feb. 1, 1750.
  Mary, b. Apr. 15, 1753.
7 Noah, b. Apr. 8, 1755.
8 Ephraim, b. Oct. 4, 1757.
9 Reuben, b. Sept. 18, 1760.
  Joel, b. May 16, 1763.
  Sarah, b. May 3, 1765.

FIFTH GENERATION

3151  EBENEZER FROST, son of Ebenezer and Elizabeth, born in Springfield, Mass., June 6, 1732-3, married June 18, 1773, Thankful Dunham. She died May 9, 1838, aged 96; hence born about 1742. She survived her husband.

   Children:

  Elizabeth, b. 1774.
2 Daniel, b. Mar. 4, 1776.
  Mary, b. Nov. 26, 1777; m. Oct. 11, 1801, Thomas Stebbins.
4 Aaron, b. Sept. 26, 1779.
  Sally, b. Aug. 10, 1781; m. Oct. 30, 1808, Moses Stacey.
6 Ebenezer, b. June 18, 1784.
  Samuel, b. June 11, 1788.

Of Aaron and Daniel, brothers of Ebenezer, the writer has little record. An Aaron Frost married at North Wilbraham, Mass., Sept. 18, 1786, Lovice Warner. If this is Aaron, son of Ebenezer, born in 1737, he was fourty-nine years of age at the time of his marriage.

The estate of a Daniel Frost of Springfield, Mass., was settled up in 1818. There is no mention of any family, and the estate, which consisted of land, was all sold to pay debts. It is likely that this Daniel was the brother of Ebenezer and Aaron.

3171  SAMUEL FROST, son of Josiah and Mary, born Sept. 15, 1740, probably married, Nov. 23, 1775, Patience Hammond, of Tolland, Conn. Said marriage is in the Windsor records, but the parentage of said Samuel is not given. The date of the marriage agrees well enough with the birth-date of 3171 Samuel, and the writer feels safe in assuming that he was the bridegroom of that marriage.

   Child:

  Amos, b. June 23, 1777.

3172  EXPERIENCE FROST, daughter of Josiah and Mary, born Dec. 6, 1742, married, Jan. 4, 1769, Anthony Gloster.

   Gloster children:

  Mary, b. Feb. 12, 1770.
  Mariana, b. July 23, 1774.

Page 12       EDMUND FROST, 3 SAMUEL LINE

3173  JOSIAH FROST, son of Josiah and Mary, born July 6, 1745. The writer has no record except his birth. It is likely, however, that he had a son, since in the Summers records, a Josiah Frost married in 1806, Nancy Brown. If he was not a son of 3173 Josiah, he was at least a contemporary and his children, therefore the writer will give the record without any guarantee of its authenticity. See the Frostburg Line.

3174  AARON FROST, son of Josiah and Mary, born Sept. 16, 1747, married in Windsor, Conn., Apr. 12, 1773, Parnal Wood. She died Sept. 17, 1776. in her twenty-third year, hence born about 1753. He married second wife, Margaret Hammond, Aug. 13, 1777. She died Feb. 18, 1837, aged eighty-seven, hence born about 1750. He died Aug. 3, 1817.

   Children:

1 Parnal, b. July 14, 1773.
  Aaron, b. Sept. 22, 1775, died.
3 Aaron, b. Nov. 5, 1778.
4 Alpha, b. July 30, 1782.
5 Selah, b. Oct. 10, 1784.
6 Salmon, b. about 1791.

3175  DAVID FROST, son of Josiah and Mary, born Feb. 1, 1750, married Esther Bixby, of Beach Hill, Blandford, Mass. She died Oct. 14, 1828, aged sixty-nine years, hence born about 1759. He died Jan. 22, 1832.

   Children:

1 Jacob Green, b. Jan 16, 1779.
2 David, b. May 17, 1780.
3 Esther, b. May 17, 1781.
4 Arial, b. about 1781, probably twins.
5 Amasa, b. Dec. 29, 1785.
  Aroxey, m. Roland Noble.
  Lucinda, m. Justin Farnham.
  Matthias Swaim, d. young.
  Salmon, d. Apr. 27, 1815, aged twenty-three years.
  Wealthy, d. Jan. 21, 1832, aged 43, unmarried.
  A Child, d. young.

David and Esther must have had another son named Dan, who d. in 1815, since his will that was probated in that year leaves money "for a monument for my brother Salmon." The will also mentions his father David, and his wife Millie. On the ninth of March, 1810, David Frost sells to Dan Frost of Granville, land bounded by that of Jacob G. Frost and Arial Frost.

Oct. 19, 1852 Jacob G. Frost, David and Amasa Frost, of August, Oneida County, N. Y., and Arial Frost of Tolland, Mass., sell land in Granville; probably to settle their father's estate.

3177  NOAH FROST, son of Josiah and Mary, born April 3, 1755, married, Mar. 6, 1783, Polly Chapin, and after her death he married at East Bridgewater, Mass., in 1797, Erene Edson.

   Children:

  Zebulon, b. Jan. 10, 1784.
2 Malah, b. Aug. 15, 1785.
  Philah, b. June 28, 1788.
